Song of the Day! Digital Underground “Humpty Dance”
I’m not sure why they blocked out the getting busy in a Burger King bathroom line, but times were different back then.
Its Hump Day! Time to party!

Two for Tuesday edition featuring Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
The original!
And now the remix!
There’s something about the guitar line in the original that just makes me happy, and on election day I need something to smile about. Lets just hope that all of those Tumblers do a good job at being Secretary of State, I didn’t realize a bunch of kids could do the job. Anyway, I’m sure you have heard Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings by now, they are funky and I like em a bunch. Enjoy!

Brave & Strong is off my favorite Sly album “There’s a Riot Going On“, from production to songs to just general grooviness I love this album. The audio on this clip sucks to say the least.

Happy Halloween from West Town Recording! Great party last night, a big thank you to Baby & Hide, The Sometimes Family as well as The Drunken Years for performing and an extra big thank you to all of those who came out and got tore up!

This is what I get for listening to V103 24/7. Who would have thought I’d be bumping Ginuwine, but the lyrics are awesome! Jordan reference? I’m a Chicagoan, I love my city, I love Michael Jordan so much I named a band after him for %$^$ sake! I could do without the BS choreography but can say this is my favorite song I’m gonna turn my radio on and play it for my lady all night long. . .

This tune takes me back to when life was easier and I had less money. You know what they say…. Mo Money Mo Problems. Anyway love me love me and pretend that you love me!

Alright I have a few reasons why this made the song of the day.
First the tune is awesome
Second I had such a huge crush on Harriet Wheeler
Third I remember Justin and I going to see The Sundays at the Vic while working at Omni in McHenry sometime in the late 90′s
Fourth, it is fricking cold in Chicago and I miss Summer

Yeah I’m still listening to Gregory Isaacs after his passing a few days ago. This is so good!!!
