Rahm Emanuel Not Eligible to Run for Mayor?!?! Maybe he needs to drink a “Rum Emanuel”?

Apparently an Illinois Appeals Court has ruled that Rahm Emanuel does not qualify to run for Mayor of Chicago in next months election. . . This is devastating news to Chicagoans who want a mayor that actually might keep things the old fashioned way, you know the way of the Daley machine.

To others, like Mayoral candidate Ed Bus (53rd Ward Alderman), this is great news. I contacted Alderman Bus at his downtown office and he said: “Hey, I told em. I told em not to mess with the machine. He did, and I put a few calls into a couple of my guys…well, let’s just say they wear robes for a livin… Moral of story: Don’t fuck with the Bus.”

I think Rahm should do what I do when faced with troubles, turn to the bottle. Here’s a video of how to make your very own “Rum Emanuel” written/performed by Chicago funny man Paul Thomas with camera/editing done by WTR friend/drinking buddy Chad Wilson.

Enjoy, and don’t forget to add just the right amount of aggression.

New Video from PROH MIC “Life” ft. MC ADaD

The first time I met ADaD was in Mike Ryan’s van outside of the Hothouse as they were working out their set list with Kenny Keys about to perform as Eulorhythmics. That encounter led to Mike, Kenny and myself having a few sessions under the name MR MAKK, short lived but yet a cool experience. This past New Years we brought ADaD into the mix with  The Jordan Years; the Elbo Room will never be the same.

Here’s the latest video from PROH MIC ft. ADaD called “Life” (All Natural, Inc.). Now keep in mind ADaD not only spits some real life shit but also directed and edited this vid, I tip my hat.

Vote Early / Vote Often / Vote Bus!

Let me start by saying I have been a longtime advocate of Alderman Ed Bus and think that he will make a fine mayor. .  . Much love to Justin, Sandy, Kate, Adam, Stephe and the Schadenfreude crew past and present. Vote Daley and/or Bus!

I HEART DETROIT!!!!

That’s right, I love Detroit and I will be playing bass with Wes Restless and Ill Legit this coming Friday (1/7/11) at the Old Miami as part of the The Ill & the Restless Midwest support tour.

I know a lot of bad things get said of the Motor City but I really really like it, is that wrong? From my time playing at the Music Menu in Greektown to even Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak, I have never had a bad time, there was that one time in Windsor but that doesn’t count, Canadians are weird.

Anyway, if you are in or near Detroit please come out and toss a few back with us, and if you are brave you might even host the after party. . . Unfortunately I have no details as to showtime and/or admission but if you get there early enough I bet you wont have to pay to get in, maybe?

Here’s the first video off of the Ill & the Restless
