Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet of Galactic fame was backed by The Jordan Years very own Michael Cole on keys, Wes Restless on vocals and myself on bass. Martyrs will never be the same, love the sound there by the way, BAG END!!!! Expect to see more WTR live dates at Martyrs, this could be the new North side home.

The Houseman is back! The New Orleans legend and former lead singer of Galactic is back with a new Chicago-based group led by The Jordan Years keyboardist Michael Cole. Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet was featured on the first six Galactic albums (four original studio albums) and has two critically-acclaimed solo albums to his credit. Houseman left Galactic in 2004 due to health concerns and relocated to Chicago after Hurricane Katrina. Theryl and Cole became friends late in 2009 and started working on new music and putting together a new group in his new home town of Chicago. We are proud and excited to relaunch the Houseman’s career with a full-blown, authentic Mardi Gras show at Martyrs’ in Chicago. Tickets are on sale now for the show, which also features the horn-laden funk of Crystal Gravy.
Ah, it was 1 year ago today that myself, Mike Ryan and Roger Panella loaded up our backpacks with beer and headed down to Grant Park to witness/experience the Obama victory party. Congrats to America for electing President Obama, we sure did need some change after dumbass left office.

Sure it was a heat index of 98 degrees and yes I was in a suit most the weekend, but hello it’s October, Chicago was experiencing our first cold. I loved Amelia Island, but not enough to rush back to the cold. Congrats Alexandra and Remi Granger!

WTR is busy! After completely rocking the roof off Black Gate Sessions in June, the Jordan Years featuring Wes Restless began production of a 45 vinyl record to be released by WTR before the end of 2009. A couple of videos from the live Black Gate Sessions show have been posted on the video page, just focusing on the record at the moment, great things are coming. . .
